Accommodation

Azura Benguerra has 16 villas positioned along a fine sandy beach, all with traditional Mozambican shaggy-thatched roofs and chic interiors. Each villa has a private pool, and outdoor shower.

The Infinity Beach villas are decorated in subdued, tasteful tones, with a great emphasis on local artwork. They are fully air-conditioned with a mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities. A Mozambican butler is included in the tariff.

The location of the Luxury Beach Villas ensures total seclusion with a private swimming pool and spectacular outside shower. En-suite bathrooms include a his-and-hers shower. Each villa has a large private undercover deck with daybeds, offering views over the pristine beach out to sea.

The Villa Amizade is a two bedroomed luxury villa with a stunning view over the Indian Ocean. It has a 10-metre private pool and a large beachfront garden incorporating daybeds and hammocks to laze away another perfect day in paradise.

The Presidential Suite can accommodate up to six people in three en-suite bedrooms. Located discretely, 150 metres away from the main complex, the luxuriously appointed suite includes a wine bar and media room, an 18-metre infinity pool, as well as a Tree House lounge from which to admire the exquisite views of Bazaruto Island. A butler and personal chef are part of the service.

Wildlife

The reefs are pristine and have an abundant variety of fish and hard and soft corals. There are green and leatherback turtles, reef sharks, stingrays, devil rays, moray eels, whale sharks, manta rays as well as a variety of reef fish such as grouper, batfish, puffers, Moorish idols, parrotfish, clown fish, and chocolate dip fish. Dolphins are often spotted frolicking close to dive and snorkel sites, and there are frequent sightings of the endangered dugong and migrating humpback whales. Freshwater crocodile sightings are possible on trips to the inland freshwater lakes. There are over 100 species of birds on the island, including flamingos and pelicans.

Children of all ages are welcome at Jock Safari Lodge .Rooms accommodating children sharing with parents contains one sleeper couch per room or on request cots are available .
Children under the age of 16 years are not permitted on any walking safaris.
Child minding services are available upon request and can be arranged at an additional cost .

Gates
The Kruger National park prohibits the use of roads within the park once the gates are closed. Guests, therefore, need to be at their destination by the time the gates close.

• There are flights on SA Airlink and LAM from Johannesburg International airport (OR Tambo) to the newly modernised Vilanculos International Airport (VNX).

• The flying time from Johannesburg is approximately 2 hours.

• These flights are designed to connect well with the major international flights to and from Europe.

• There are also regular flights from Maputo (MPM) on LAM.

• Visas are available on arrival (currently US$85 but note this is subject to frequent change).

• Where possible please obtain your visa in advance to speed your arrival through the airport.

• US Dollars, South African Rands and Mozambican Meticals are accepted in Mozambique.

• Please have cash for your visa available on arrival.
