Wildlife

The temperate Waterberg is a region of great diversity. Straddling two distinct ecological zones, Limpopo itself encompasses an array of landscapes from mountainous horizons to savannah grasslands, with the rocky outcrops of ravines and gorges in between. Among the area’s famous predators are leopard and cheetah, as well as an extensive number of mammals like zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, eland and kudu.

One of the largest populations of White Rhinos in any private reserve in Africa often graze close to the lodge. Populations of Blue Cranes, Secretary Birds and Cape Vultures are among the myriad bird species that share the thousands of endemic plants blanketing the landscape.
