Children of all ages are welcome at Royal Madikwe where they can play and learn about their natural surroundings in a safe environment with an exciting kiddies program while parents relax by the poolside, or join in on the fun!

The Emperor Suite – Located on the second level of the main clubhouse, the newly renovated Emperor Suite boasts spectacular views of the waterhole from the elegant sunken lounge! This suite is suited to couples in search of a lavish, spacious suite, a honeymoon retreat, or for families with 2 younger children.  The master bedroom offers a king size bed enchantingly draped in a luxurious mosquito net, mini bar, tea /coffee facility, safe, complimentary Wi-Fi, rain shower, bathtub and aircon, children are accommodated in the second bedroom in fun bunk beds –better suited to younger children.  The adjacent TV lounge and dining space creates an air of exclusivity and privacy in this uniquely appointed space

The Royal Villa – This Luxurious 2 bedroom family villa offers exclusivity and privacy, perfectly suited to families seeking tranquillity; boasting a four poster bed in the master bedroom and luxurious twin beds in the second bedroom both draped in a luxurious mosquito nets, each with en-suite with indoor / outdoor rain showers, bathtub, private viewing deck & jacuzzi, indoor/ outdoor wood fire place, aircon, mini bar, wine cooler, tea /coffee facility, safe, complimentary Wi-Fi, Library and TV lounge on second floor with another viewing deck with perfect waterhole views

Wildlife

The landscape of Madikwe is as striking as it is greatly varied in geography and vegetation. Situated between Botswana, the Kalahari sandveld and the dense bush of the lowveld, the reserve is a kaleidoscope of flora and fauna. Savannah plains roll onto leadwood forests, bordered by the Dwarsberg Mountain Range in the South. In addition to the famous Big Five, more than 28 mammal species and 350 types of bird inhabit the reserve. Cheetah, wild dog and rhino are some of the endangered species of Madikwe’s wildlife, and are exceptionally rewarding sightings.

Children
• Children of all ages are welcome at Royal Madikwe.
• Children under the age of 2 years stay for free in a cot when sharing with 2 adults in a Luxury Suite.
• Children under the age of 5 years are not permitted on the scheduled game drives, however, a 1-hour kiddie’s bumble can be arranged at the lodge.
• Children under the age of 16 are not permitted on Bush Walks.
• Children’s Activities (Daily between 12h00 – 13h00) A complimentary fun-filled program created just for your little ones to keep them entertained and excited about their adventure at Royal Madikwe .

• BY ROAD:

• From Oliver Thambo Airport, take R21 to Pretoria (Tshwane).

• Stay on the N4 which bypasses Rustenburg and head for Swartruggens.

• (Look out for the R45 toll gate at Swartruggens).

• From Swartruggens, continue on to Zeerust.

• Please ignore all signs to Madikwe before Zeerust and enter the town itself.

• At the 4th intersection into the town of Zeerust, there is a sign indicating the R47 to Gabarone to the right.

• Take this right turn.

• Travel approximately 90km along this road towards Gaborone and then look for the Wonderboom Gate into the Madikwe Game Reserve on your right (you will see Bush House signs along the way).

• Wonderboom Gate is the second gate on this road.

• Once through the gate, take the first turn on your right after Bush House (on your left), continue along this road until you see Royal Madikwe on your left.

Please note: You will need to pay a gate entrance fee of R160 per vehicle and R40 per person.The entrance fee can only be confirmed at the time of making your reservation (Prices subject to change)
