Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is situated in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya in the Lake Nakuru National Park, just two hours’ drive from the capital, Nairobi. The lodge nestles on an elevated plateau above Lake Nakuru, offering panoramic views of the lake, pink-rimmed by the huge flocks of flamingos. The lodge is beautifully landscaped with natural foliage, and ablaze with a variety of colourful flowers. It is set inconspicuously amid mature acacias, blending into the wooded landscape. The hotel is designed so that most rooms command good views across to the soda lake.

Accommodation

The lodge has 67 well-appointed chalets, all en-suite and each with its own private patio. Seven pairs of rooms have interconnecting doors, making them ideal for family accommodation. The standard rooms are spacious and elegant, with a vantage point overlooking the lake and distant hills. There are two luxury suites and a honeymoon suite, comprising two bedrooms and a living room with fireplace, and an outside fire-pit for barbeques. The rooms are connected to the main lodge areas by raised wooden walkways.

Wildlife

The Lodge is an ornithologist’s delight, attracting over 50 species of birds from amongst the 400 species that inhabit the park. Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is the best destination to view the astounding concentration of pink flamingos that spend the daylight hours filter feeding on the nutritious plankton in the shallow water at the edges of Lake Nakuru. Pelicans and marabou storks abound.

The National Park has rich concentrations of game including white and black colobus monkeys, the rare black rhino, leopard, lion, eland, Rothschild’s giraffe, buffalo and waterbuck. The park is also a renowned Rhino Sanctuary. The wide grassy flood-plain surrounding the lake is usually the best place to view large herds of game, while the shady euphorbia forests are perfect for leopard sighting.

Conferences

Away from the town’s hustle and bustle, Sarova Lion Hill’s conference facilities are customised to suit individulas events and needs. This is the perfect out-of-town location to hold meetings, considering that it’s just under three hours away from Nairobi. The two conference rooms are fully equipped with WiFi, LCD Projector, wide-screen, TV and DVDs, flip chart board, writing pads, markers and pens.

Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is located in Lake Nakuru National Park, Rift Valley, Nakuru County. Its located at a distance of 160kms from Nairobi, Kenya. If travelling on a chartered flight it would take 30 minutes from Nairobi and if you are travelling by road it would take 2 ½ hour’s drive from Nairobi.
