Nestled in the untamed bushveld of Madikwe’s Big Five game reserve, the lodge offers a safari experience to rival the best. But it’s the informal style and intimate atmosphere of Bush House that make you feel truly welcome, relaxed and part of the family.
Accommodation
Six en-suite rooms offer a tranquil space to take in the bushveld views from private verandahs. All suites are conveniently located on the main house. Transformed from an old farmhouse, suites are comfortable and modern while retaining a sense of character and rustic charm.
All accommodation is comfortably appointed with percale bed linen and fluffy towels. Air conditioning, separate baths and showers and a full range of amenities ensure that guests will want for nothing.
Wildlife
Madikwe is a 75,000 hectare paradise of untouched wilderness that is a sanctuary for the myriad species of birds, reptiles and mammals that inhabit it. In addition to the Big Five, the reserve also hosts one of the largest elephant populations in South Africa.
The endangered wild dog is also one of the most rewarding a species to be spotted here, along with the black rhino and cheetah. Birdlife is abundant, with over 350 species inhabiting the riverine forests and Kalahari sandveld plains.

Directions
• BY AIR:
• Flights to O R Tambo Johannesburg International
• Transfers to lodge are available
• BY ROAD:
• From O.R. Tambo Airport take R21 to Pretoria (or the N1 from Johannesburg) towards the N4 Toll Road,
• Head north west towards Rustenburg, Swartruggens, Groot Marico and Zeerust.
• Once in Zeerust turn right at the fourth stop street intersection (President Street).
• There is a signpost on the left that says Madikwe Game Reserve/Gaborone and an ABSA bank on the corner to the left.
• Follow the R47/ R49 towards the reserve for approximately 95km.
• Pass the Abjaterskop gate and enter at the next gate, Wonderboom Gate, exactly 7km from there.
• Once you have gone through the boom there is a Bush House signboard about 300m along the gravel road.
• Turn left in here and travel through our gate entrance.
