Accommodation

Premier rooms and suites are luxuriously furnished, taking inspiration from the sea views and surroundings. All suites have a spacious separate lounge area, en-suite bathroom, under floor heating and air-conditioning throughout.

All rooms are provided with a bottle of wine, with suites receiving an accompanying fruit platter, on arrival. Slippers and bathroom amenities are provided, while tea and coffee delivered in the morning with a complimentary newspaper. All rooms receive complimentary Wi-Fi and hot water bottles placed in the bed at turndown. Honeymooners can expect romantic turndowns with sparkling wine.

Wildlife

Hermanus is a renowned land-based whale watching destination. Southern Right Whales can be spotted from June to early December, and return each year as the sheltered Hermanus Bay is believed to provide the perfect ‘nursery’ for them to mate and calve.

The Marine offers exceptional views for whale watching. If you want to get closer to these creatures boat trips, sea kayaking and scenic flights over Walker Bay can be arranged.

In addition to Southern Right whales, there are also Humpback whales, resident Bryde’s whales and even the occasional Orca is spotted in the bay. Hermanus is home to the marine ‘Big Five’, the Southern Right Whale, Great White Shark, Cape Fur Seal, Common Dolphin and African Penguin.

Directions

From Cape Town or the airport follow directions to the:

• N2 National Road (Highway) towards Somerset West, George and Caledon.

• Past Somerset West and Strand continue up Sir Lowry’s Pass towards and past Grabouw.

• At Botrivier, coming out of the mountain pass, take the turn-off to Hermanus.

• Once in Hermanus follow the main road into the CBD.

• Keep a look-out for a Shell Petrol Station on your right. Turn right at the road after the Shell which will lead into a T-junction with Marine Drive.

• Turn left into Marine Drive – notice 45 Marine Drive and Hermanus Esplanade on your left but proceed to reception at the Esplanade Complex, 63 Marine Drive.
